5 YouTube Channels you should be watching if you are a physiotherapy student!


Living in the millennial generation it is absolutely normal to look out for more content which is interesting and excites us to dive deeper into the topics we are studying than just reading our textbooks. YouTube definitely is a brilliant source for the same. It has over time developed a platform for brilliant creators who produce great content that can help students to study in a much more interactive fashion than ever before. In this blog post we shall be discussing 5 YouTube channels which are hands down the best sources for adding the extra spice to your physiotherapy studies and give you a head start to treat and perform better when exposed to clinical setups.

These channels no doubt are great sources for understanding concepts and learning performance hacks to treat better on actual patients but we do recommend that students should study the theoretical concepts from textbooks first. The video graphic content can be used as an extra addition to the study plan and not as the only source.

The channels are listed in random order and each of them is highly recommended by us.





YouTube’s #1 subscribed anatomy channel is definitely one of the best sources to get a better understanding on the anatomy of the human body. They offer 3D anatomy videos of spine, upper extremity, lower extremity, muscular system, vascular system, nerve supply to these parts and much more.

This channel is a brilliant source for first year students and should be referred by all students to keep up with their basics. The videos are concise and cover majority of important points which are important from a practical point of view.


2. Osmosis :-





It’s highly unlikely you haven’t heard or come across this channel if you have ever searched for medical content on YouTube. It has been one of the favourite sites for professors and students alike for understanding concepts in the simplest way possible. The channel features videos on variety of medical concepts ranging from stroke to pneumonia to gout and much more. The best features that grab our attention is their simplistic illustrative formats and easy to understand delivery.




This channel unlike the previous two are run by two physical therapist Kai Sigel and Andreas Heck who produce content on assessment, clinical reasoning and physiotherapeutic management for various conditions. Their videos are short and to the point. The videos on how to perform special tests for various conditions are very well demonstrated and easy to learn and replicate.




Prehab which is short for Preventive Rehabilitation is also a channel run by physical therapists. This channel provides variety of techniques for every condition to train and strengthen different muscle groups. The content is more intervention based and offers variety of strengthening techniques using kettle bells, weights, resistance bands etc. the protocols are complaint specific and easily reproducible based on complaint specific goals.







This channel is run by Mike Reinold who is a physical therapist, strength coach, performance enhancement specialist and cofounder of Champion PT. On his channel he runs a show called “Ask Mike Reinold Show” in which he and his team of expert strength and rehab coaches answer questions related to research, academics, clinical practice, student queries and much more. The show has crossed over 153 episodes and the variety of content is most certainly unmatched.
